polaroid nightmare
polaroids
of kisses and grins
and passing
cars soaring out
the window, while i watch
in disgust.
my whole life
flashes before my
eyes as each photo floats
past
slipping through
my trembling fingers.
frantic and fumbling, i
struggle to wipe away
the mascara
running down cheeks
i'd die for you to kiss.
i turn to you,
gasping for air,
praying for answers
but you tighten your grip
on the steering wheel
and turn away.
